Mr. Jonathan Key teaches Personal Finance & Career Exploration at Davie ACE. He sees a need in the community for a better understanding of financial management. Mr. Key believes that anyone can be financially successful, but that financial success may be different for you than it is for many others. Mr. Key defines financial success as being able to make any decision you want to make. Financial success may be moving out of your mom’s home into your own apartment or buying a car with minimal debt. With hard work and self-discipline, you can have financial success.
Money is often associated with evil because where there is money, there is often greed. But Mr. Key avoids that pitfall by remembering that everything is given to us by God, and God can take anything away from him. By acknowledging who gave him everything, Mr. Key can glorify God without falling into greed and by being a good steward.
Mr. Key is a great example of a disciple who has taken his talents and multiplied them for the glory of God.

Science/Insects with Mrs. Cole
Boys and Bugs
Welcome to INSECTS 101 with Mrs. Cole! We’ve discovered that while every insect IS a bug, not every bug is an insect. To qualify as an insect, one must have three body parts (head, thorax, abdomen) and six legs. Eight legs? You can’t be included in the insect category. We took our magnifying glasses outside to search for critters to study and found some cool white mites and lots of ants!
Science/Engineering with Mrs. Weekley
By Asher Pirkle
Science/Engineering is a class based around teaching kids the main scientific ideas and basics that make the world what it is today. Some topics they discuss include the laws of physics and explaining what E=MC² actually means. While I was there, their goal was to create a loopty loop out of paper. Once they made teams, they started building and put into play kinetic and potential energy while also thinking about speed, mass, and friction as big factors in their outcome. Once they were done, we went around testing and watching each coaster. At the end, we all voted on who had the best one, and the winning team consisted of Ellie, Evan, and the team captain, Levi.

To Your Health

Are you wearing bug spray? A lot of people think mosquitoes are harmless bugs that give you bug bites. But if you haven’t been catching up with the latest news, mosquitoes have been doing horrible things.
The mosquito has killed fifty-two billion people, more than any other creature. Mosquitoes carry around many diseases that are harmful to human health. Mosquitoes are increasing every day; they breed in water, and water is all around us, so people have been trying to get rid of them, but it might not be possible.
So when you go outside, it’s important to wear bug spray. When you play in your inflatable splash pad, it’s important to dump out the water so you won’t have any mosquitoes breeding in it. Now that you know all this information about mosquitoes, you should share this with a friend.

Story Time
This edition’s guest contributor is Maeve Blount
In Language Arts: Written Communications, the assignment was to finish a story that started this way:
“You are on a mission to blow the biggest bubble in history. You opened each piece one by one and proceeded to put each one in your mouth. When you reached fifty, you started chewing and blowing. At first it was tricky, but soon an enormous bubble came out of your mouth, and suddenly, you started to float above the ground.”
Maeve goes on:
As I chewed on 50 pieces of bubble gum, I was ready to blow. When I finished blowing, I started to float. I was scared, so I hung on to a very tall tree branch. I started to see the world from a high perspective and realized the beautiful world God gave me. Then I popped my bubble and safely climbed down the tree.
