Getting started with Homeschooling

1st step:
Go to https://ncadmin.nc.gov/public/home-school-information, There you’ll submit your Notice of Intent and register as a homeschool

2nd:
Once you receive your registration number, email the principal at your child’s school to tell them they are unenrolling and include that registration number. You should receive a confirmation from them. Keep all communication. Some parents request a ‘data file’ of the student’s information. I did not.

3rd:
Decide what curriculum or curriculums you’ll want to use. Check out Cathy Duffy reviews https://cathyduffyreviews.com/# for types of curriculum.

Or https://www.time4learning.com/homeschooling-styles/ for different styles

I use a combination of things now but my primary curriculum is still the Lifepac curriculum from Alpha Omega Publications https://www.aop.com/

4th:
Talk to other parents about how they do it. Talking with other parents is the best way to customize your homeschooling for your families specific needs. Find homeschooling social media groups. A few good ones are:
